Robert Coghlan is an Assistant Professor at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston. He has over 30 years experience in Emergency Medicine as both a staff nurse, nurse practitioner, and leadership. His main focus is in policy science and specifically disaster management and preparation. His PhD is in Political Science with a focus on Policy, Methodology and American Government. He has a unique ability to break processes down into constituent parts and formulate a plan of improvement. He approaches incident command systems in the same manner and identified areas where we can seek improvement in the process and education.
