Heather Musick is an experienced Emergency Department (ED) nurse who started her career in a level 1 Trauma Center. She developed perinatal expertise while serving for eight years in a Labor and Delivery with over 300 births per month. She moved to a Level 3 ED as charge nurse and then shift coordinator. She is now the Co-Clinical Operations Manager of the ED that cares for 55,000 patients annually. She has led many innovations in ED workflow and care delivery. This abstract describes an improvement project that drew on her clinical and leadership experience in ED and obstetrical care.
